Scientists at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) say they have discovered a method to make synthetic diamonds out of tequila. They're too small for jewelry but they taste great with salt and lime.

Tequila makers in México are pushing their congress to prevent Chinese businesses from claiming that maguey is a product of China. Nearly 150 of the 200 varieties of maguey are native to México.
